Course Catalog: Understanding MSDS

In order to ensure chemical safety in your workplace, information must be available about the identity and hazards of the chemicals you may come into contact with. OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires that this information be available to all workers at any time during their workday.  All employees who work with these hazardous chemicals must be trained on how to properly handle the chemical and how to read and locate an MSDS should an accident occur.

Introduction to MSDS teaches the basics of reading and understanding a Material Safety Data Sheet.  After this course you will be able to properly read and understand each section of the MSDS and identify the hazard level of the chemical by understanding the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Hazard Diamond.
